Dear WMELS Trainer,
 
When you are ready to set up an account on the Registry system and intend to offer WMELS training only, please follow the directions below:
 
1.      Go to www.the-registry.org and in the ‘Don’t have an account?” section on the left hand side, under ‘Register as  …’,  click on the Trainer  link. You will then be asked to enter some basic information so we can determine if you have a current online account with the Registry. If you have an account, sign in with your User ID (Registry ID number) and your password.
 
2.      If you are new to the online system, you will be directed to the New Online Application page. Fill out as directed.
 
 
For all applicants:
1.      Be sure to click on the ‘I am a Trainer’ box. In the ‘Trainer Type’ box, choose ‘Registered’ from the drop down box.
2.      Answer the security question. Do not check that you are a consultant.
3.      When you indicate you are a trainer and hit the submit button, you will see the REGISTRY PRIVACY POLICY Terms and Conditions. Be sure to click the box next to the “I acknowledge that I have reviewed the Privacy Policy” statement.
4.      You will then receive a welcome email from the Registry confirming your account with your Registry ID number which will serve as your User ID and your password. You are now ready to begin your application.
5.      When you log in you will see a welcome page with an explanation on how to proceed. Pay particular attention to the first and last sentences – they are for WMELS applicants specifically.
6.      Review your personal information and make any corrections necessary. Hit save and continue.
7.      Education page, the only requirement is to fill in the High School graduation year.
8.      Employment page - you can fill in information or choose ‘Save and Continue’.
9.      Professional Organization and Professional Contributions page – you have the option of filling in information or choose ‘Save and Continue’
10. Add Training page – you will not add any training. Click on the ‘Continue’ button.
11. Trainer Information page – here you will scroll down to Endorsements and click on the WMELS Approved Trainer box. Choose ‘Save and Continue’.
12. You will be directed back to the Personal section of the Online application page. Scroll down to the bottom and click ‘Submit application’.
13. On the Ethical Obligations and Professional Responsibility Agreement for Approved Trainers page, check the acknowledgement box after you have read the agreement. Hit continue and read the final page.
14. Choose the ‘Pay by Personal Check or Money Order’ option. Hit submit application
15.  If you have a DPI coupon code, enter it in the Enter payment/ Apply coupon code and hit apply. If you do not have a coupon code, you may stop right here and the Registry will contact you if necessary.
16. Remember to notify the Registry at lplatt@the-registry.org when you have submitted your application.

 PDAS Approved Trainers

Trainers are qualified through their experience as trainers as well as their experience and education in the field. There are five different types of PDAS Trainers :

How to apply:

Already a Registry Member?

Click on Application above and select My Registry and provider your

  • Name
  • Birth Date
  • Last 5 digits of your SSN

If your account is found.
Click password reminder. For security reasons, you will be asked again for your last five SSN and birthdate. You will also be asked to choose a secret word.

Your Application ID and password will be displayed and you can log on.

Once you are signed in click Edit Personal and check the Trainer box under the Application Type section.

If your account is not found and you know that you have a Registry Record please click here to contact our office and we will send you your log on information.

I have never applied to The Registry:

 Click on Application above and select My Registry and provider your

  • Name
  • Birth Date
  • Last 5 digits of your SSN

You will be asked to enter information regarding your education and experience and to send in the requested documentation. You will receive a certificate within 6-8 weeks listing your Trainer Type based on your qualifications.

The trainer type will determine what tier of training you are approved to teach.

Your Approved Trainer status will be good for one year.


You will need a current version of Adobe Reader to print attendance documents.
